This tour is a combination of the famous Sacred Valley Tour and the Classic Train tour to Machupicchu, so for those who only have 2 days to experience these sights rather than 3, it is a must!!
8:00 AM: Meet at SAS Travel office or opt for hotel pickup at 7:50 AM. mbark on a 45-minute drive northwest through the mountains, descending into the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Pisac: Explore the lively market and take in the artistry of local artisans. Hike to the impressive Incan ruins offering breathtaking valley views. (Option to stay longer in the market if desired). Lunch stop in Urubamba (lunch not included). Ollantaytambo: Discover the grandeur of Incan architecture and its surroundings. Train to Aguas Calientes: Take a scenic 2-hour train ride to Aguas Calientes. Settle into your accommodation at Hostel Viajeros. At 7:00 PM, attend a briefing by your Machu Picchu guide to discuss the plans for the next day.
Upgrade Option: For more luxurious accommodations, consider an upgrade hotel with advance booking.
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hostel or hotel after breakfast. You will take a short walk to the bus station and ride a bus (approximately 40 minutes) to Machu Picchu. Remember to bring your passport! Your guided tour of Machu Picchu begins (your guide will provide details the night before). The tour lasts around 2-2.5 hours and covers all the important sanctuary areas. After the tour, you can take the bus back to Aguas Calientes or walk down (optional). Consider visiting the Machu Picchu Museum and Botanical Garden. Lunch isn't included, so bring snacks, and drinks, or order a box lunch at your hostel/hotel the night before. You have free time in Aguas Calientes – maybe even soak in the hot springs! Your return train is usually at 3:43 pm to Ollantaytambo, with private transport onward to Cusco (train times might vary in high season). Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cusco.
